Fetish necklace, circa 1980's, by the late award-winning Choctaw artist Robert Kaniatobe, titled "Best Friends." This is a sweet enchanting necklace featuring three of Robert's hummingbird fetishes. The birds are handcarved of 2,000 to 4,000 year old fossil walrus ivory. The necklace has rare lavender Bohemian glass, 1700's; Peking glass, 1920's; Dutch glass, 1700's to 1800's. The rings symbolize continuity in the universe. The necklace measures approximately 30", and the birds measure approximately 1 3/4" long. The necklace comes complete with the original pouch and handwritten card detailing the materials and with Robert's original registration number (#401186). A rare and wonderful find.
