Award winning husband and wife Navajo artists Phil and Fannie Bitsoi-Russell created this circa 1990's sterling silver inlaid bolo. Phil and Fannie work as a team and have won multiple awards for their fine cornrow inlay. Raised inlay can be like cobblestones or corn kernels. But Phil and Fannie are renowned for their precision cut slivers of high grade stones set into tight stone-to-stone inlays. Their work is elegant yet wearable. They pride themselves on their meticulous attention to detail and making sure each piece is just right. Phil Russell was born in 1952 and is a member of the Tangle Clan. He has been making jewelry since 1975, collaborating with his wife Fannie Bitsoi-Russell, born in 1953. The bolo is 2" in height by 1 1/2" tapering to 1 1/16" and features natural turquoise, pink and red coral, lapis, jet, sugilite and mother-of-pearl.
